A Coordinated Program · Four Days or Two Visits · Local & Out-of-State
Hypermobility and EDS care, coordinated for patients near and far.
By Jacques Courseault, MD, CAQSM, FAAPMR · Founder, The Fascia Institute and Treatment Center®
A meaningful portion of my hypermobility and EDS patients travel to see me. Some drive in from across Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. Others fly in from states where their local options have run out. So I built one program with a schedule that bends to your life — the same five physician-led steps at our New Orleans clinic, scheduled either as four consecutive days or as two separate visits to the clinic. You choose the schedule, and our coordinator builds it with you.
A short walk-through of the intake journey (2:30) — what the program looks like from your first visit onward. We recommend viewing in full-screen mode.
Why I built a coordinated program.
It took me a few years of taking care of hypermobile patients to notice a pattern. Some patients could pace their care across several months — the standard rhythm. But a second group kept appearing in my exam room: people who had flown in from Texas, Florida, the Midwest, the West Coast, and the East Coast, sometimes farther. They had spent years assembling fragmented care from rheumatologists, geneticists, cardiologists, GI specialists, and physical therapists who rarely talked to one another. By the time they reached me, they had a thick chart and a thin sense that anyone was actually quarterbacking the case.
Those patients did not need a monthly visit schedule. They needed the program condensed into a short, focused block of days they could plan a trip around. They needed flights, hotels, and lab work coordinated. And when they went home, they needed their physical therapist and local physician to have a clear written plan from me in hand — not a shrug and a thicker chart.
So I built the program to run on one of two schedules, without changing the medicine. The five physician-led steps can be scheduled as four consecutive days for patients traveling in, or as two separate visits to the clinic for patients who prefer a steadier pace closer to home. Those are the two schedules we offer. Our coordinator walks through both with you and helps you choose the one that fits your travel, your body, and your life.
Two ways to schedule your care.
These are the two schedules we offer, and both deliver the same five-step physician-led evaluation at the same price. The only difference is how the visits are sequenced — and our coordinator will help you decide which is best for you.
| Four Consecutive Days | Two Separate Visits | |
|---|---|---|
| Cadence | All five steps across four consecutive days | All five steps across two separate visits to the clinic |
| Best for | Out-of-state & long-distance patients | Local & regional patients |
| Travel | Fly into New Orleans (MSY) for one trip | Two trips to our New Orleans clinic |
| Step 5 | In-person — MD visit | In-person — MD visit |
| Home team | Notes, plan & records sent to your home team | Notes, plan & records sent to your home team |
| Pricing | $2,500 (full evaluation program) | $2,500 (full evaluation program) |
Same evaluation, same physician, same price — only the sequencing changes, and our coordinator helps you choose which is best for you.
What the program includes — and how treatment works.
The program is a comprehensive, physician-led evaluation that ends in a plan. Across the five steps we take a full history, review your metabolic and functional labs, perform a hands-on Hypermobility Grading and physical exam, review your imaging, and then sit down with you to build a clear, prioritized treatment plan for your body.
Hypermobility rarely behaves like a single-organ problem. The same biology that makes joints loose can affect the autonomic nervous system, mast cells, the gut, the skin, and the way your body recovers from stress. The evaluation is built to account for the whole picture, not just the joints — so the plan you leave with does too.
The $2,500 program is the evaluation and the plan. It includes your five physician-led steps: the initial intake, the metabolic review, the Hypermobility Grading and physical exam, the imaging review, and the Recap & Roadmap visit where we build your plan.
Treatments are a separate next phase. Procedures such as Fascial Mapping®, Fascial Dextrose Prolotherapy, ProloBoost™ Dual PRP, Hydrofascia Release™, and IV therapy are recommended in your plan and scheduled and billed separately — they are not part of the $2,500. What follows below is what the evaluation examines and what your plan may recommend.
Diagnosis & Subtype Clarity
Confirming the clinical picture: hypermobile EDS, classical EDS, hypermobility spectrum disorder, or one of the rarer subtypes. Sorting out what is genetic, what is acquired, and what is overlap. Included in the evaluation.
Joint Stabilization
We assess where laxity is driving your symptoms and build a stabilization strategy. If treatment is indicated, your plan may recommend Fascial Dextrose Prolotherapy or ProloBoost™ Dual PRP — scheduled and billed separately.
Autonomic & POTS Management
We review volume status, electrolyte balance, and orthostatic stability, and map out an autonomic strategy. If indicated, your plan may recommend Plasma-Lyte IV therapy — scheduled and billed separately.
Pain & Fascial Network
A hands-on Hypermobility Grading and physical exam identify where fascia may be driving your pain. If a fascial driver is found, your plan may recommend Fascial Mapping® and Hydrofascia Release™ — scheduled and billed separately.
Conditioning & Movement
A graded loading plan calibrated to your joints, your subluxation history, and your goals — not a generic rehab protocol. Your program includes an OxeFit assessment for an objective baseline of force production, symmetry, and control, and the written plan is built to be portable to your home program. The OxeFit assessment and the written plan are included. Ongoing therapy is delivered by your own team, and IPR60 sessions with the physical therapy team at FIT Therapeutics are an optional add-on, scheduled and billed separately.
Coordination With Your Team
Your local physician, physical therapist, geneticist, and other specialists are part of the plan. After each visit we send your notes, your written plan, and your records to the providers you name, and we answer written questions from your home team. Records and written coordination are included in the evaluation. We do not schedule provider phone calls as part of the program.
Who you’ll see.
The program was built by Dr. Jacques Courseault, who founded and leads it. Depending on your schedule, your location, and the visit, some of your care may also be delivered by Dr. Rachel Turner, a physician on our team who trained under Dr. Courseault in this protocol, and by Kelli Morrell, NP, our nurse practitioner, who handles key parts of the functional and metabolic review.
Whichever physician you see, you are not getting a different standard of care. The entire team reviews every case together — the same protocol, the same clinical thinking, and a shared bar for quality. No case moves forward on one person’s read alone. That is how we keep the medicine consistent across every provider on the team.
Who the program is for.
- Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of hypermobile EDS, classical EDS, or another EDS subtype seeking comprehensive, joined-up care.
- Patients with hypermobility spectrum disorder (HSD) whose symptoms have outpaced what a single specialty can manage.
- Patients with POTS or dysautonomia — including those without a formal EDS diagnosis — who would benefit from structured autonomic and volume management.
- Patients with suspected hypermobility who have never had a complete workup and want one done properly.
- Patients with overlap syndromes — MCAS, GI dysmotility, chronic pain — who need a physician willing to look at the whole picture.
- Patients flying in from out of state who have run out of local options or want a second, more comprehensive opinion.
The five-step evaluation, in order.
These five steps are what the $2,500 program includes. The clinical content is the same whichever schedule you choose. Whether you choose four consecutive days or two separate visits, they run in this order — and end with a plan.
One price, either schedule.
Program total: $2,500 for the full five-step evaluation and your treatment plan.
Deposit: $1,250 (50%, non-refundable), due at booking to hold your program slot.
Balance: $1,250, due at your first visit.
Not included: Treatments recommended in your plan — Fascial Mapping®, prolotherapy, ProloBoost™, Hydrofascia Release™, IV therapy, and similar procedures — are scheduled and billed separately. We review the cost of any recommended treatment with you before you commit.
The full five steps are scheduled either as four consecutive days or as two separate visits to the clinic — our coordinator will help you choose which works best for you. Payment by check or ACH avoids a 3% card processing fee. Cash is not accepted. HSA / FSA accounts are accepted. Travel, lodging, and ground transportation for out-of-state visits are arranged by the patient; we provide recommendations.
Frequently asked.
No. The $2,500 covers the five-step evaluation and the treatment plan we build from it — the intake, metabolic review, Hypermobility Grading and physical exam, imaging review, and the Recap & Roadmap. Procedures such as Fascial Mapping®, Fascial Dextrose Prolotherapy, ProloBoost™ Dual PRP, Hydrofascia Release™, and IV therapy are recommended in your plan and scheduled and billed separately. We go over the cost of anything we recommend before you commit to it.
There are two schedules, and those are the only two. Four consecutive days — all five steps completed in one trip, which is what most patients traveling from a distance choose. Or two separate visits to the clinic, spaced apart, which local and regional patients often prefer. Both cover the identical five-step evaluation at the same price. Our coordinator will help you decide which fits and will sequence any flights and lodging. Please note the program cannot be completed in a single day or in two days.
The evaluation program is $2,500 total. A $1,250 (50%) non-refundable deposit holds your program slot when you book, and the remaining $1,250 balance is due at your first visit. Any treatments recommended in your plan are billed separately. Payment by check or ACH avoids a 3% card processing fee; cash is not accepted. HSA and FSA accounts are accepted.
No. Many patients in the program have hypermobility spectrum disorder, suspected EDS, isolated POTS, or simply long-standing joint and autonomic symptoms without a formal label. We work the diagnostic side of this in parallel with treatment.
After every visit we send detailed notes, and at the end of the program we send your written plan and your records to the providers you name. We also answer written questions from your home team. Provider phone calls are not part of the program, so the coordination happens in writing — the goal is to leave your local PT, primary care, geneticist, or specialist with a clear, actionable document they can work from between visits.
The program is a self-pay protocol. Most insurance plans do not cover comprehensive hypermobility coordination programs, but many patients use HSA or FSA accounts toward the cost. You will also receive five superbills — one for each of the five steps — that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
This program runs at our New Orleans clinic. New Orleans is our original location and is straightforward to fly into: MSY (Louis Armstrong International) is one of the more accessible airports in the South and is about fifteen minutes from our Metairie office, and the city is relatively affordable for the lodging and ground transport an out-of-state trip requires. Patients in California and the West: we also see hypermobility and EDS patients in Beverly Hills, but that clinic schedules differently and is not part of this program page. For Beverly Hills availability and scheduling, please contact The Fascia Institute and Treatment Center of LA directly.
Many patients do not, and the program is designed to leave you with a sustainable home plan. Patients who need ongoing regenerative work, periodic re-mapping, or additional treatment blocks can extend with standard follow-up visits at their preferred cadence.
Always. Many out-of-state patients travel with a partner or caregiver, and we encourage it. For pediatric and adolescent patients, a parent attending every visit is the standard.
Built for the patients who live here. Built for the patients who fly here.
Whether you drive in from across Louisiana or fly in from across the country, the program meets you with the same physician, the same protocol, and a schedule — four consecutive days or two separate visits — built around your life.
